Now, if you’re sitting there wondering whether you can play Armored Core 6 with folks on different platforms, I gotta tell ya, it’s a bit of a letdown. As of now, Armored Core VI: Fires Of Rubicon don’t have no crossplay feature. So, if you’re hopin’ to be shootin’ it out with your cousin on PlayStation while you’re sittin’ on your Xbox, well, that ain’t gonna happen.
See, when they were talkin’ about the game before it came out, folks thought maybe, just maybe, they’d have crossplay. After all, some other games do it, right? Like Call of Duty Warzone, where you can play across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, no matter what your buddies are on. But nope, Armored Core 6 ain’t like that. If you’re playin’ on one platform, that’s where you stay. No mixing across the platforms.
So, you can forget about trying to team up with someone who’s on a different console, whether it’s PlayStation, Xbox, or even PC. Cross-platform ain’t in this game. You’ll only be able to play with folks on the same generation of consoles as you. If you’re on PlayStation 5, you’ll only be able to play with other PlayStation 5 players. Same for Xbox Series X|S.
Now, let’s talk about multiplayer a little bit. You don’t just jump into it right away. You gotta work for it! Armored Core 6 has five chapters, and you gotta get through the second one before you can even think about multiplayer. And even then, you gotta finish all the missions in chapter two before you unlock it. So, that’s a bit of a grind before you can go fightin’ others in that big ol’ mech suit.
And don’t go thinkin’ you’ll be able to jump in right after you finish the second chapter, because multiplayer ain’t unlocked until the last mission of that chapter. So, you better get ready to put in some work before you can be slingin’ missiles with other folks.
Now, like I said, it’s only team-based PvP, meaning you ain’t gonna be doin’ any big free-for-all battles. But even so, you can have a lot of fun blowin’ up other players and teaming up to take down the enemy. Still, the fact that there ain’t no crossplay or cross-platform support is a bit of a bummer. I guess you’ll just have to play with the people you know who got the same console as you.
And, for those of you who own both a PC and a console, well, it ain’t much better. The game still won’t let you play across different platforms. So, whether you’re on PlayStation or Xbox, or whether you got your PC, you’re stuck on the same ol’ platform. Makes it a little tricky if you want to play with your friends who got something else, don’t it?
All in all, Armored Core 6 does have a good multiplayer system, but don’t expect to be teamin’ up with your buddies across different platforms. It just ain’t gonna happen, at least not right now. Maybe in the future they’ll update it, but for now, you’re stuck playin’ on your own system. Ain’t much else to say about it, but at least the game’s got a good bit of action once you unlock that multiplayer part, right?
