Getting Started with the Martian Core Thing

Okay, so I heard about this thing, the “Martian Core Quest Monopoly”. Sounded kinda interesting, maybe a bit weird. Saw some chatter online, thought I’d give it a look myself. You know how it is, always curious about these new online activities.

First thing I did was try to find where this was actually happening. Took a bit of searching, wasn’t immediately obvious. Landed on some platform, looked a bit rough around the edges, honestly. But hey, I was already there.

Needed to sign up, standard procedure. Got that done. Then I spent a good while just clicking around, trying to figure out the point. The “Monopoly” part was confusing at first. Didn’t see a game board or anything like that.

Figuring Out the ‘Game’

Turns out, it was less like the board game and more about… claiming stuff? Or completing tasks related to different ‘zones’ they had set up. They called these zones ‘cores’ I think. It felt like a series of tasks you had to check off for each core.

  • First step: I picked one core, seemed like the easiest one to start.
  • Next: It asked me to do some simple stuff. Interact with some feature on their platform, maybe answer a simple question related to Mars or something spacey.
  • Then: Had to connect something, like a social profile or a wallet. Always a bit hesitant with that stuff, but I used a burner one just for this.

The process felt a bit grindy. You finish one task, another pops up. Some were quick, others took more time or needed me to wait for something to update. It wasn’t exactly thrilling, more like ticking boxes off a list.

The ‘Monopoly’ angle, I guess, was about trying to complete all the tasks for a specific core, or maybe multiple cores, to ‘control’ them? The instructions weren’t super clear. I just focused on doing the steps laid out in front of me.

Hitting Some Snags

It wasn’t all smooth sailing. Sometimes the platform was slow. Click a button, wait. Submit a task, wait again. A couple of times, a task didn’t register as complete right away. Had to redo it once or twice. Bit annoying, but not a dealbreaker.

Also, understanding the rewards or the final goal was tricky. They mentioned some kind of digital collectible or status for completing cores, but the details were vague. Felt like I was just doing tasks without knowing the real payoff.

Wrapping Up My Session

I spent maybe an hour or two actively clicking through things. Completed the tasks for one ‘core’ and started on a second one. It felt… okay. Didn’t rock my world, but it passed the time.

My main takeaway? It was an experience. Did I feel like I played Monopoly on Mars? Not really. It was more like a guided tour through a platform’s features disguised as a quest.

Will I go back and try to ‘monopolize’ all the cores? Maybe if I’m really bored. It wasn’t bad, just wasn’t super engaging for me personally. Just wanted to share how it went down when I tried it out. It’s another one of those online things, you try some, you stick with some, others you just move on from. This one falls into the ‘tried it’ category for now.
